Storytellers from the four corners of the globe will converge on Montréal for the 10th edition of the Québec Intercultural Storytelling Festival, which takes place October 16 to 25, 2009. Founded in 1993 and directed by storyteller Marc Laberge, the Festival puts on hundred of events, in English and in French, celebrating the richness and diversity of the storytelling tradition. |

John Campbell Ireland (Armagh)
John Campbell is one of Ireland’s finest seanachie (traditional storyteller). He has represented Ireland with great success at many international festivals in Europe and America. He has been a featured storyteller at the Barbican Centre in London and at the Lincoln Center in New York.

Len Graham Ireland (Armagh)
Len Graham is one of Ireland’s best known collectors of traditional music. As a ballad singer he has performed at the Barbican Center in London, at the Lincoln Center in New York and throughout Europe. In 1992 he was the recipient of the Sean O’Boyle Cultural Traditions Award in recognition of his work in traditional music.

Dr. Michael Kenneally Québec
Dr. Michael Kenneally’s research interests include issues related to Irish landscape, memory and identity in contemporary Irish literature, and the writings of Irish exiles in nineteenth century Canada and other countries with large Irish immigrant populations. He has lectured at conferences around the world.

Bernadette Short Ireland-Québec
Bernadette Short came to Montreal from her native Dublin in early 1974 and soon became involved in teaching the Irish step dances she had learned while growing up. She is not only an Irish Dance Teacher but is also a qualified Adjudicator, much in demand across North America.

Pat Speight Ireland (Cork)
Pat Speight is a Gaelic and English speaking teller who is gaining renown both in and beyond Ireland. He has been featured at the Cape Clear Festival, as well as at the Barbican Center in London. In 2001, he was on stage at the National Storytelling Festival in Tennessee and performed recently in Toronto and Chicago.
